What a great community we live in?
A lot of you will have enjoyed Barry’s Farm over the years.
Recently there has been a need to raise funds to help the farm with some repairs.
The Scratch Project partners were delighted to fund the materials required to carry out the necessary work at the farm.
Also two of our partners Penny’s Landscapes (Nathan Nathan Penny, Josh Penny and Kelly Grant) and Solent Electrical (Dean Wheeler & Lewis Jenkins) carried out the works needed at their own expense.
A great team effort. Well done Penny’s and Solent for this kind gesture. Also thanks to the all Scratch partners who when they were asked about either making a donation or covering the cost of all the materials for the project all the partners replied universally with ALL. Superstars one and all!
Barry’s daughter Helen contacted Scratch with this thank you:
“Your groups generosity is overwhelming and of course very welcome. The farm has meant everything to my parents and the pond has always been a fantastic feature where visitors can come to watch the ducks and geese enjoying themselves in the water. You have no idea how shocked and humbled we have been by the reaction we have received from the community over my dad's illness and the uncertainty of how the farm will be managed going forward. Through your generosity and that of the local Gofund me page, we have been setup with a very good platform to ensure that we can help secure a legacy of the farm and animals going forward.
On behalf of my parents and the rest of the family, thankyou so much again for all your help and generosity”.
Helen also commented on the two businesses who gave their labour for FREE:
“The teams of Penny’s and Solent have all been extremely gracious and professional and always going above and beyond without a second thought. Its genuinely been a pleasure having them around.
Thankyou again for all your help.
With regards Helen “
Lovely word indeed from Barry’s family.
Getting involved with projects like this is just what the Scratch Project is all about!
As I said above what a fantastic community we live in!
